    Good ideal. I expected the location of the intersection point is constructed at Kam Sheung Road. It is benifit to HK citizen because of the travelling time (no long distance walking at intersection point is necessary) and cost expenditure for the rail project. I expected that the programme of such project should be fixed as fast as possibile.

    我係特首,就改造南昌站(機場快線合併),錦上路站(成為各區交通快線(總滙處)處理過關及出入境,因錦上路站四周有大量空置土地供應,可以成為維修總站,不用需要徵用石崗菜園村,浪費公帑,
    貫通落馬洲及上水鐵路站,方便北區及沙田區居民使用快線往返廣州及香港機場。

    其實南昌站連接九龍塘,(興建高速架空快線),連接東南西北(東九龍及將軍澳居民),效益更大。

    其實藍線之港島快線不用興建,將資源充分配,改善貫通東南西北,效益更大,更多人使用此鐵路,好似電視廣告一個大圓圈,貫通東南西北,各方地區充分使用快線。

    贊同Elaine KWOK,港島快線實在沒必要的,因為西鐵線已接通南昌站,建議中的港島快線節省只是幾分鐘時間,沒有成本效益。政府的方案讓人感到是為了發展西九龍站,以至要另興建獨立新線而放棄共用西鐵路軌,又要耗費超大公帑,這樣是極不智的。
    另外又提問,既然要貫通南北西東,為何又無鐵路連接沙田與新界西(如荃灣西站)呢?

    I m a Japanese Rail Engineer, I agree the new rail should be locate in Kam shing Road , It save a lot of time and place , the gov is bull shit to say every 7 min must lauch the rail to China. Is it possibile have such a quick time to launch a rail tp China . It will cost a lot of repairs and ticket price will get higher.

      In my view, HSR can go directly into the urban area is a must. But in practical way, HSR can be more flexible. That means we can build the HSR to Kam Sheung Road Station for resident in NT West then the second part is West Kowloon Station in order bringing the HSR to urban area like shinkansen in Japan are divided into different in service stage. (For example Hachinohe Station of Tohoku Shinkansen is temporary terminus until the railway line reach Aomori Terminal and this Shinkansen will also connects with Hokkaido Shinkansen in the further, making the terminus station at New Hakodate or New Sapporo Station.)

      As the section between Kam Sheung Road and West Kowloon must pass through many building and underground gravel section which is making the construction fee getting higher. Therefore, if the HSR can have 1st stage service to Kam Sheung Road would significantly decrease the construction fee and letting NT West resident can have their HSR station to China rather than going more south to Kowloon and go north backward to Mainland again. Then we can have another budget to finish 2nd stage of HSR and letting the HSR can reach urban.

      But at the same time I oppose to the idea of Hong Kong Island Express Line. First of all we could not have reasonable ticket prices as the train are running with Airport Express line and proving same service using the same train with AEL. Secondly, according to designated purpose of LAR ( MTR Lantau Railway), the capacity is about 24-32 train/hr or even lesser under current train arrangement and SACEM signaling system. That means the ultimate headway of LAR should be 1.8 mins due to AEL trains and TCL trains are sharing the same track. Therefore it is almost mission as Donald Tsang said to add another train service type into LAR and providing more frequent service considering TCL must increase it’s headway once more population Tung Chung have.

      Besides adding Island Express, the situation we facing every day on LAR is AEL trains sometimes even gotta give way to TCL trains because SACEM of MTR are not able to separate local trains, which is calling at all stations and express trains, which may pass through some stations. If a TCL train was dwelling inside SUB siding( for passengers that is a station, but for trains ops.. it is just a siding), and at that time an AEL train was approaching… AEL trains can only wait for that TCL train in front. It’s because SACEM doesn’t know if you’re AEL or TCL or not. It only have something called “trains" inside the system, so the AEL train at behind only have it’s LOMA + overlap to the rear of TCL train ahead. The only way is to adopting another signal system, maybe seltrac… maybe LZB… maybe something within ECTS lvl.2/3 std etc. Ok… if MTR got such funds to adopt to another signal system, then how about north island line? That NIL is extending TCL trains to Fortress Hill?

      Even we now don’t have the Island Express, ultimate headway and capacity problem have to consider! How can we insert such a lot of trains into LAR? It’s impossible !

    with the current info from both Govt and Expert Group (EG), I think the Govt scheme is far too expensive comparing the EG Scheme. As a matter of fact , I have no objection to construct a Express rail line. Yet, I am so surprised when the budget raised from 39 B to 70B.

    I hope the Govt can give a discussion period to the HK residents, say 3 months. That’s worthwhile for a 5 yrs project like this.

    高鐵行350km/h , 在新界加個站 , 停多一停 , 等如要行慢車 …
    相等於用駕超級跑車行銅鑼灣 , 塞車慢駛 , 一無是處

    I am working in Guangzhou for years and give a brief opinion of railway station location. Guangzhou has just built a new station for Hispeed railway in southern part, which is 10-15 KM from the town center. Construction can be finished in a year or two, no one complain.

    Why Hong Kong need a railway station right in the most expensive place of the city?

    Government reason for this location is all nonsense. They just want to use the money to keep the West Kowloon infrastructure less expensive for the real estate big shot.

    If it is really for the good of railway station, put it in New Territories and really develop the New Town. Put one third of the 60 billion has been very good for it.

    Why the government push this bill passed so urgent? Only one reason : he was hijacked by someone.

    And it is no body. Either the Rich or the Powerful.
    Our treasury is run by them, not by Hong Kong People.

    I think years after when Donald write his book – , his confession shall be : Pray God to forgive me to push such a bill, I am handfolded here and it is not my will to do that.
